Background

I was born in San Diego, CA in 1988. I lived in the historic area of Point Loma, San Diego for 17 years. I spent most of my childhood watching my parents sail boats and living on the links. I started playing golf a the age of six, and still play to this day.

I soon became one of San Diego’s premier junior golfers. I played in the San Diego Junior Golf Association for 11 years, winning player of the year at the age of 15, and winning various other tournaments along the way. As a service to an organization, I continued with San Diego Junior Golf Association (SDJGA) as an adult, working as a tournament director. I have continued to run junior golf tournaments for SDJGA for the last 10 years.

Golf enabled me to earn a full-ride golf scholarship to the University of Wyoming where I spent four years playing golf and earning my degree in Communication and Journalism. Throughout the four years I remained one of the top players on the team, as well as, a top student in the classroom. I graduated with honors, summa cum laude.

I met my husband, Blaine, on the golf course, and we have spent the last seven years traveling and playing the worlds best golf courses. We do not have any children at the moment, instead, we have a 100-pound German Shepherd fur baby. Brody believes he is a person, and we treat him as such.

I spent two years back in Wyoming, working on my Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism. During my graduate work at Wyoming, I met my mentor and Thesis chair, Dr. Kristen Landreville. Kristen has been my inspiration, my friend, and a person I am so grateful to have met. She brought out my passion for research and teaching, to which, I hope to make a career soon.

Blaine and I now live in Tucson, Arizona were I am earning my Doctoral degree at the University of Arizona in communication. So far, we have enjoyed going from the blistering cold winters of Laramie, to the scorching hot summers of Tucson.

Hobbies

I am avid lifetime photographer. I became interested in photography in high school, and have enjoyed shooting weddings, engagements, babies, and families. Please click on the Photography link on this website to check out my photography gallery.

Besides golf, I also play competitive pool. My husband and I started playing pool as something to do together other than golf. After a year of competition, we are both division leaders in our respected skill levels.

Ballroom dancing has always been a passion for me. I started to ballroom dancing in high school, and have been dancing ever since. I enjoy the jitterbug, salsa, nightclub two-step, hustle, and my most recent venture, the Argentine tango.
